How does Pre-Grading work ?

During a Pre-Grading service, the CCC team:

Authenticates the card
Assesses its condition using the Pre-Grading scale
Secures it in a sleeve and high-quality card saver, sealed with our premium security label

The card can only be removed by damaging the label, ensuring reliability and transparency for buyers.

For which situation is Pre-Grading ideal?

Pre-Grading is ideal for sales:

On live-selling platforms (Whatnot, Voggt etc.)
On marketplaces (eBay, cardmarket, etc.)
In stores (physical or online)
At events (conventions, tournaments, etc.)

Pre-Grading is not recommended in the following cases:

Personal collection ➔ Opt for classic certification to protect and showcase your card for eternity.
Medium to high-value cards in great condition ➔ Opt for classic certification to maximize its value.

Your shipment must include certifications in order to order a Pre-Grading service.
In the submission center, add the Pre-Grading service from the "Accessories / Other Services" section.
Select the quantity. You don't need to enter any card information.
Confirm the order along with your certifications.

FAQ - Pre-Grading & Insurance

PRE-GRADING INSURANCE :

Pre-Grading insurance can be added in the submission center, from the “Accessories & Other Services” area.

For each quantity added, it insures €250 of Value upon delivery and while your cards are being processed on our premises.

Please note: the delivery insurance offered at the end of the order process is different. It does not insure your Pre-Grading and corresponds to the delivery insurance for classic certifications (cards with a Declared Value).

How can I check that a pre-graded card has never been removed from its card saver?

If you have purchased a card that has already been pre-graded, the label must be intact and perfectly flattened over its entire surface.

If you notice any of the following on the label, Pre-Grading is invalid:

A surface with abnormal undulations (especially near the edges)
Any tears or folds.
Traces of tearing near the “tear-detection” pre-cuts.

To ensure authenticity, our labels feature 6 levels of security:

Tear-detection pre-cuts
3D embossing on logo and condition
Special varnish
Security pattern on the background
Logo in UV ink on back of card
CCC hologram

There is no declared value, is it normal ?

Which cards can I send ?

You can only send cards that we are able to certify for a standard grading service.

We recommend this service for cards:

-of low to medium value
-that are in a condition that would not take advantage of traditional grading.

Pre-Grading is not recommended in the following cases:

Personal collection ➔ Opt for classic certification to protect and showcase your card for eternity.
Medium to high-value cards in great condition ➔ Opt for classic certification to maximize its value.

Can I only order pre-grading, without any other certifications?

What are the turnaround times ?

If you are a private customer, the processing time is the same as for your certifications.
For example, if your certifications are in Super-Express, your Pre-Grading will be processed in 1 to 3 working days.
Please note: there is no increase in the Pre-Grading rate for fast turnaround times, it remains fixed.

For professional customers, processing times are those proposed in response to your request via the “Contact (Business)” button.

How do I get professional rates?

If you have a professional structure (business number required), we can offer you special rates.

Conditions apply:
